There are something like six hundred thousand reasons why Bob Dylan is one of the greatest icons in American history. Everything that has been said about the guy is true. The man is a genius.
A few of us over here are pretty sure that of all the Dylan phases in almost 50 years of recording and playing live the tour for the Desire album known best as the Rolling Thunder Revue is possibly the coolest of all.
"Hurricane"
Dylan and company (including Bowie guitarist Mick Ronson, Roger McGuinn of The Byrds, Joan Baez and T-Bone Burnett among many others) went on a barnstorming tour in the fall of '75 into the spring of '76.
It included the songs he co-wrote with Jacques Levy for Desire as well as some rugged re-workings of some of his classics.
We took a little bit of time and grabbed a few highlights of the period from good old Youtube.
"Isis"
"It Ain't Me Babe"
"Just Like a Woman"
